September is Attendance Awareness Month! Did you know that students can still fall behind even if they miss school just a day or two every few weeks? Here’s how you can support your child’s attendance:

  • Set a regular bedtime and morning routine;
  • Get clothes ready and pack backpacks the night before;
  • Develop backup plans for getting to school if you are unable to take your child;
  • Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session; and
  • Talk to teachers or the school counselor if your child seems anxious about going to school.

Visit www.tulsaschools.org/attendance for more information about building good attendance habits!
