It was a great first week of school in Tulsa! We are so happy to see our students back in class ready to learn.

On Monday, pre-K students, kindergarten students, and their families participated in orientation to help them get acquainted with their school, and older students had the opportunity to meet their new teachers at events across the district.​​​​

On the first day of school, City Year and Bank of Oklahoma team members cheered on students at McLain High School as they arrived, and seniors at Edison celebrated the beginning of their final year of high school at Senior Sunrise.

Hugs abounded across the city as students reunited with their friends and favorite teachers.

Thanks to the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools, students at Whitman Elementary and Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy returned to fully renovated schools!

Bond projects were also completed at Memorial High School, Hale High School, Mayo Demonstration Academy, Edison Preparatory, McLain High School, and Webster High School. Thank you, Tulsa voters!

At the end of the day, students excitedly rushed to their waiting families to share all their adventures from the day.

Thursday was a big day for our littlest learners as our pre-K students started their education journey with their first full day of school, getting to know their teachers, classmates, and school procedures.

Football season kicked off on Thursday night with the 82nd Annual Grady Skillern All-City Football tournament. Booker T. Washington High School took home the trophy at the championship game against East Central High School on Friday night.
