The Student Support Team at Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy seeks to improve attendance in a variety of ways.
Teachers at Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy greet students as they walk into the elementary school every morning. Some give fist-bumps. Others stick with high-fives. Either way, the kids love it. “I will tell you that if you’re in our halls, you’ll see students smiling,” Principal Elaine Buxton said. “They’re really understanding that they have people that love them and care about them.”
August 2018 begins a new chapter for our school and the surrounding community as we start the new school year as the Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy.
During the summer, Tulsa Public Schools partners with community hosts for our Summer Café program, providing free meals for children 18 and under.
We recently received notice that SchoolWay will be retired as of July 1, 2019, so our schools will no longer be able to use it. Because of this, we are transitioning to SchoolMessenger.
Children can lose between 20% and 40% of their school-year learning during the summer. We want to make sure your child starts the new school year strong, so we're inviting you to enroll your student in our 2019 Summer Academy!
Congratulations to our 2019 Teacher and Support Employee of the year, Nicole Powell and Donna Garner.
Tulsa Public Schools would like to welcome its newest Board of Education member, Stacey Woolley! She will be the new representative for District 1.
